Douglas Gillespie is a Brooklyn-based dance artist. He teaches at colleges and dance centers around the world, including The Juilliard School, NYU Tisch Summer Program, Mark Morris Dance Group, National Taiwan University of the Arts and Gibney Dance Center. Gillespie has choreographed for the Festival Danza Urbana Teoria De Gravidad in Monterrey, MX, Assembly Dance Theatre in Tapei, Taiwan, Limon Professional Training Program in NYC, Moving Current Dance Collective and Sarasota Contemporary Dance in Sarasota, FL, and Doug Varone DEVICES in NYC. Gillespie has choreographed on students at SUNY Brockport, Florida Southern College, Cleveland State University, University of Florida and Santa Fe College. He was an originating member and creative contributor for Kate Weare Dance from 2007-2022, has recently had the pleasure of performing with David Dorfman Dance and Stephanie Batten Bland Company SBB, and was a performer in both Punchdrunk's NYC Sleep No More and Third Rail's Then She Fell. Gillespie was born in San Diego, raised in Jacksonville, Fl. and received his BFA in Dance from Florida State University in 2005.
